The sampling of the ambient air means the determination or measurement of the concentration of the air pollutants and also measurement of meteorological elements of the air pollution. Hence the sampling of ambient air quality is important in study of the air pollution.
Measure aspects of the Sampling:-
Determination of the highest concentrations expected to occur in the area concerned by the monitoring network.
Measure typical concentration in areas of high population density.
Determination of the impact of the significant sources or source categories on air quality.
Determine the general background concentration level.
Determine the extent of regional pollutant transport among populated areas; & in support of secondary standards.
Measure air pollution impacts on visibility, vegetation damage or other weather based impacts.
Monitoring stations that are located in areas where pollutants concentrations are expected to be among the highest & in the areas with the highest population densities are often used in health effects Research networks & generally use automated equipment to continuously sample & analyses pollutant levels.
